Information from the German media about Turkey’s refusal to buy the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia is not true. The head of the communications department of the presidential administration of Turkey Fahrettin Altun informed about this personally.
We are talking about the article of the German edition of Bild, which reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan allegedly changed his mind to buy Russian air defense missile systems. German journalists cited the fall of the Turkish lira and the threat of US sanctions as the reason for such a dramatic change of position on this issue. At the same time, the publication referred to its sources in Turkey.
“Your sources are wrong. Take information from me: the process of buying the C-400 is completed,” Fahrettin Altun wrote on Twitter.
Recall that Turkey’s purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system instead of the American Patriot strongly dislikes Washington. However, despite all the threats from the United States, Erdogan remained adamant in his decision to acquire Russian weapons.
