Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has assured that the State School of Nursing and Midwifery currently being reconstructed by his administration will offer world-class training programmes for nurses and midwives when completed.

The Governor gave the assurance when he embarked on an on-the-spot assessment of the level of work being done at the school located in Benin City, the state capital.

The Edo State School of Nursing and Midwifery has been abandoned over the years and is now being reconstructed to offer training programmes to nurses and midwives.

Governor Obaseki was at the site to check the level of work done and said that the decision to revamp the facility stemmed from the need to build manpower to provide quality healthcare services.

He said that the school is expected to open before the end of 2021. It is being rebuilt with specifications from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
